In November 2023 RacingBikes opened a new showroom in Bratislava in the Slnečnice district at Fialová 2C, open on weekdays from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays from 11:00 to 15:00. For more than 30 years it has offered customers cycling services and advice, including: building bicycles and bicycle components tailored to the customer, bicycle servicing and component servicing, and advice on choosing a suitable bicycle.
The shop focuses primarily on road/racing cycling, but customers will also find what they are looking for in gravel, MTB, e-bikes, trekking and children’s bicycles. Alongside these services, the Slnečnice store also offers cycling components and accessories, clothing and footwear. To help with choosing the right bicycle size and frame geometry we offer Bio Size fitting, which is used in professional cycling. In the RacingBikes showroom you will mainly find Italian bicycle and frame brands. RacingBikes is the exclusive distributor for the Slovak Republic of the brands Colnago, Bottecchia, Spezzotto.
Our range also includes the exclusive brands Pinarello and De Rosa. You can build them up with electronic groupsets from Campagnolo, Shimano or SRAM and shod with wheels from Campagnolo, Shimano, Fulcrum, Zipp or Princeton, fitted with tyres from Pirelli, Vittoria or Continental.
To keep your training or riding safety fully under control, you can equip your bicycle with power meters from Shimano, SRAM, Garmin or Favero Electronics, as well as Garmin computers and lights — putting all of your on-bike performance data at your fingertips. To further enhance performance we also offer Ceramic Speed bearings and pulleys. You can dress in the Italian brands Castelli, Pissei or Sidi.
The history of the Italian bicycle brands is renowned for over 100 years of success in professional cycling, as are the founders of these brands, who were themselves cyclists: Ernesto Colnago, Giovanni Pinarello, Ugo De Rosa, Ottavio Bottecchia and Antonio Spezzotto. All of them are family businesses that still live and breathe cycling today.
The founder of RacingBikes is Anton Roller, also a former cyclist who represented the then Czechoslovakia at various international events. It is a family company, and the Slnečnice showroom is run by his son Anton Roller Jr.
RacingBikes is the exclusive distributor of the brand Colnago, one of the leading bicycle manufacturers in Italy. The partnership has lasted more than 25 years and started thanks to the friendship between Anton Roller, Kamil Haťapka (a pioneer of cycling in Slovakia, a successful cycling coach, and, after the political changes of November 1989, a politician for the Slovak National Party and a diplomat) and Ernesto Colnago. Mr Colnago is now 93 years old, and his factory also houses a museum of his historic Colnago bicycles. In 1987 he began collaborating with Enzo Ferrari and the Ferrari brand, and started producing carbon frames instead of steel ones.
In 1995 a carbon frame from Colnago won the prestigious Paris–Roubaix race, and from then on all bicycle brands in the professional peloton began using carbon frames.
Today the Colnago brand is represented by the professional team UAE Emirates and three-time winner of the most famous cycling race, the Tour de France, Tadej Pogačar of Slovenia.
