The Peak 4550 Evolution, borrowing refinements from the Wake 6560 Evolution and Alta 3532, once again raises the bar.
The internal rim width has been increased to 21 mm internal (28.2 mm external), while rim weight has been reduced to 420 g. Stiffness and balance have been improved thanks to our patented radially distributed lacing, and aerodynamic efficiency has also been increased.
The Peak 4550 Evolution now shares a similar graphic design with our Wake 6560 Evolution, creating harmony for split Peak/Wake setups.
The Peak 4550 Evolution will continue to feature a hooked, hole-free bed, tubeless-ready, accommodating clincher/tubed tires or tubeless tires without the need for tape and without tire-pressure limitations. Competing hookless rims, while cheaper to manufacture and lighter, have proven problematic and potentially unsafe, especially regarding tire choice and pressure limits. Princeton CarbonWorks still firmly believes that a hooked rim provides the safest and fastest solution for road riding and racing.
The added valve landing nut makes wheel setup even easier. Rim brake versions and beds for both disc and rim brake tires will also be available.
All builds ship with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, and a choice of White Industries, DT Swiss, Chris King and Tactic Racing hubs is available.
As with the Wake 6560 Evolution, 10 colors and finishes are available.
